A Barham & Sons and Panther Travel

I have just had confirmation from Essex County Council and Highways, that we will be given road access to the closures on the 14th and 15th March.  We may have to wait a while for them to move the machinery but having a bus service all though it may be late is better than no bus service at all.

Kind regards

Brook Street – commencing (14th March), these works should be completed by lunchtime (hopefully) and although road closure signs will be up, buses will be permitted through – under supervision.

High Street (Dedham) – through to Ardleigh Village taking in Ardleigh Road/Lamb Corner – Wednesday 15th, as with Brook Street, the buses can get through under supervision.

Long Road West – this should be completed on the first two days of the closure ie 16/17th March – if I suggest to our bus operators that they operate via Ardleigh Road, Harwich Road and Coggeshall Road, they will be able to make a straight across movement at the Dedham Heath Crossroads, to enable buses to go to/from Dedham village.

Long Road East – it is anticipated that these works will be undertaken on 20th/21st March – this should not affect our bus services.

I understand that where the buses are going to be escorted through worksites, that there may be a slight delay, whilst the path through is made clear/safe for the buses to pass through.

I have copied in our main service bus operator through Dedham, so they are aware of what we have agreed with regard to access arrangements for service 81. If I have misunderstood what we discussed, please can you let me know asap, so that the bus operator can make his arrangements accordingly.

Kind regards
